I moved my law firm to a new building and wanted to upgrade my network security application (Fortinet 60E). I liked my old Fortinet the way it was, but I didn't like the annual threat management fees and had to deal with the routine of routing and log monitoring. Enter this Ubiquity USG-Pro-4 that offers intelligent Unified Threat Management capabilities and a highly reliable software/hardware controller system that greatly simplifies remote monitoring and configuration. For small and medium-sized businesses, this is a good choice. For home users looking to ditch their minimally secure Wi-Fi router/module combo (ie the NetGear stuff you get at BestBuy), this is a solid choice. Don't expect it to be as easy to use (with step-by-step wizards) as a consumer router/switch. However, you can rest assured that it's a lot more secure when properly configured.
