Around the same time I bought a pair of Fiskars saw shears from a large store for about $20. Compared to the NEJLSD brand, the Fiskars operation felt too tight and kind of stuck. However, both brands cut very well, but the NEJLSD scissors run much more smoothly. I was surprised that the ball bearing is a key factor in the smooth running of the NEJLSD scissors. It is able to apply lateral pressure to the cutting blades without binding. Fiskars relied on tightening the main bolt for side loading, which created much more friction than a ball bearing. Simply put, the NEJLSD scissors are best suited for this function. I'm not an experienced seamstress so I can only offer my limited opinion, but I think a pair of NEJLSD cleavage scissors is a good buy.
