I assembled the chair but yes it does take some effort to connect the back to the seat as you have to use lateral pressure - they are both quite good soft , so you need to slide the rear bracket to the front of the seat by inserting the screws. However, assembly is otherwise easy and the only tool required (an Allen key) is supplied. The chair is wide enough to be comfortable and the armrests are roomy. The base is made entirely of welded steel, except for the castors, and rolling on the parquet floor is a real pleasure. The seat is quite comfortable and the waterfall padding helps with that. Comfortable backrest, and for us, smaller and wider people, provides adequate support. The chair offers seat height, armrest height and recline with recline tension adjustment. It has no back height adjustment (which will be an issue for tall people - I'd recommend this chair if you're 6ft or less, but no taller than that) or seat angle adjustment. You don't need the features of an executive chair, but you want to be sure that a chair is designed for heavier people, it's a pretty good buy. I can tell you it won't be long folks. The cylinder is gone - I'm actually online right now to order another cylinder so I can fix this chair - and the seat padding failed after about a year of use so I'm using an extra seat cushion. So my rating went from four to two stars. The chair is spacious, but comfort and utility are illusory and ephemeral. If you buy this make sure you buy an extra seat cushion (memory foam is great these days) and a heavy duty cylinder to replace the one that came with this chair when it inevitably fails. Another update: the new cylinder is here, but it's a waste of time. The legs, casters and body are all one piece, which isn't a huge issue except there is a bearing ring on the underside of this assembly and it's split. It is impossible to assemble it disassembled without replacing the bearings. I think I'll just buy another chair - I don't want to spend time or money on it. Now it has one star because it's also not that easy to fix.
