Review on Razer Nari Ultimate Xbox One Wireless Gaming Headset: 7.1 Surround Sound, HyperSense Haptic Feedback, Auto-Adjust Headband, Retractable Mic - Xbox Series X & S Compatible - Black/Green by Aaron Villanueva

Revainrating 4 out of 5

*UPDATED* Great for longtime solo players playing online multiplayer for the first time - really cool fight!

***UPDATE*** I still really like these headphones for the audio/haptics, but two things worry me. First, they've been having connectivity issues lately. It could be a problem with my computer or with the game I was playing (Borderlands 3), but my friends I play with tell me that sometimes my voice cuts out and I even get a "no" from time to time signal” beep. which is frustrating. I can't put this down to headphones 100%. However, I'm deducting a star (well, half a star actually, I'd still give them a 4.5, but Revain doesn't allow half a star) for convenience. They start giving me a huge headache with the band sitting on my head if I wear them for too long. I guess I'm just being sensitive as we have since bought a set for my partner who doesn't have these issues. In any case, I wish the strap was actually adjustable and not self-adjusting as I think it puts more pressure on it than I prefer. ***Original Review*** To make it short: So far I am very satisfied with this product! The light is cool, the haptic feedback is too cool, the sound is clear and focused. Thumbs up all around. Overall, I REALLY recommend this product and I REALLY feel that the haptic feedback and colored lighting (if you like it!) add a lot of value to deserve an upgrade to the Ultimate version. Full review: I bought this headset like many during quarantine! - I've started playing a new game: Fallout 76. I've been a long-time fan of the Fallout franchise, but only for single players, so I never got to 76 until I had private servers where I dodged strangers and could play. only with friends. Multiplayer online games are new to me! One of the best things is the chat as it allows me to at least chat a little while stuck at home. And to do that, I had to invest in a headset (rather than always stealing my partner's working headset while it failed!). I decided I was better off growing up or going home, so after much research I invested in the Razer Nari Ultimate. So I came into headset gaming as someone new but VERY used to computers and video games. I know how important it is to be able to enjoy the game's soundtrack and still hear the footsteps of the enemy sneaking up from behind. I feel I can accurately judge the functionality of this headset in this regard and I have to say I am very satisfied. The sound is very directed and soft. It sounds better than our cinematic 5.1 surround sound from our living room speakers! I want to turn my head to better hear the sounds from behind. It's stunning, crisp and high quality. I haven't played with the EQ settings much yet, but according to some reviews I've increased the mic volume and turned the rumble feature down a bit. The Synapse software was fairly easy to navigate and had many useful options. My friends I played with said they could hear me loud and clear, but I can hear them perfectly. No volume problems. Although they don't offer active noise cancellation, the headset fits snugly in my ears and blocks out a fair amount of outside noise, to the point where I had to move it slightly away from my ear to make sure I could hear my dog. (who had just had surgery and was sitting right next to me) in case she started crying. And now the HyperSense feature: I love it! I think it's a matter of personal preference whether you like this feature or not, but I found it added to my gameplay. Until virtual reality improves, haptic feedback will be one of those sensory experiences completely absent from video games; Though far from reality, the directed rumble of heavy footsteps of a giant enemy behind you or the whirr of helicopter blades overhead adds a whole new level of immersion to the game. However, I recommend reducing the haptic feedback a bit, at least if you're playing fallout games: in stormy weather, the wind made too much noise before turning off, and launching/closing the PipBoy menu was shocking! that and the Corsair RGB Wireless Headset, which I found to be much slimmer and more attractive, but in the end I'm happy with my choice. I prefer in-ear headphones and find them quite comfortable. I am a petite woman but have a relatively large head circumference and these fit perfectly. No customization required. The buttons are fairly easily accessible and I like how the mic can be moved out of sight. Plus, of course, the chroma lighting is just plain fun. My partner, who regularly plays online games, isn't very talkative, but he's an audiophile, so he has some really good Sennheiser headphones for listening to music. and in-game chat while playing on his computer. He also likes RGB/Chroma peripherals for his desktop. When I got this he helped me choose based on his knowledge of the brand and the sound quality and now after trying them he's really considering switching to this product himself! I highly recommend them if you're planning to spend big on headphones anyway and want all the features. You won't find anything like HyperSense in any other similar product I've seen, and it's definitely more than a novelty.
