The paint wears off and becomes difficult to use after only two months

Well I liked this little stove after using it for the last two months and then when I wiped it down tonight (with paper towel and water) ) black letters and numbers began to fade. If I clean it again I'm afraid that more will be erased and then I don't know what settings I have or what the timer is set to! Very annoyed. I don't use strong cleaning products in my house, so nothing aggressive was used to clean.
