so far it seems to be coping. I'm not sure if he has good enough soil. Couldn't test swr yet due to the weather. UPDATE: 4-4-17 Thanks to this mount, my SWR was the highest I've ever seen. I've raised and lowered the antenna and the SWR doesn't seem to do anything. Better or worse. Do nothing. The mounting screws rest on bare metal, so I'm guessing it has a ground connection. Something is wrong and it could be me, but I've had other mounts in the past and that doesn't seem to be working with my dual band diamond. Antenna (2/440) At the moment I cannot offer this mount without knowing how to properly ground it. You won't have this problem with a magnetic mount which I think I'll have to get as it didn't work. A complete waste of money. an important foundation is missing and I don't know how to do it right.
