Review on Govee Dimmable Equivalent Assistant Decorative: Revolutionize Your Smart Home Lighting! by Amanda Gardner

For the money they are great.

I'm a student and I usually do my homework at night. This usually causes me to experience a lot of eye strain when viewing bright monitors, which is why they became my go-to solution. They provide comfortable ambient lighting that is distraction-free and softens the harshness of the screen. The colors are nice and vibrant for the night but don't expect the RGB colors to light up the living room, for me they set the mood. The temperature controlled regular white color is great, it will definitely replace the typical incandescent bulbs. I believe they list these bulbs as 800 lumens and that seems to be the case as they outshine the 650 lumen bulbs I use. So it looks like you get what you paid for in terms of white brightness but you don't get the same for the colours, not that you should expect 800 lumens for 255 red, the bulbs would be twice the price. I'd say they're just as effective as the Philips replacement, but I have no idea I don't have any Hue products. Your mileage may vary, light walls reflect light much more effectively than a dark wall. Also, you use your phone to manage them. Lots of comments and feedback that they didn't get the remote control. Actually laughed about it. The app is good, not great. Couldn't figure out how to group the light, either I'm blind or it's not there, but I don't care. A lot of other RGBW bulbs and smart home products do this patchy thing where apps need a whole bunch of permissions to run like camera, photos, mic, contacts etc etc. Wep for those interested, the app Govee doesn't ask for any of that, so don't worry about China spying on you :)

Pros
  • Dimmable & Tunalbe: Adjust the brightness of the 9W RGB lamp with color change from 1% to 100% to suit your mood or needs. Enjoy crisp and brilliant white, adjustable from soft warm (2700K) to cool daylight (6500K) anywhere in your home.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
