Our two dogs ran away from our yard. We live on a mountainside and coyotes have been sighted in our area. We have a German Shepherd mix and she loves to explore and dig. We also have a Basenji mix and he is the same. I've tried blocking out areas and using wire mesh. I also used zip ties and metal pins. It was no use. The straps don't hold up well. The collar works great keeping her and our Basenji mix away from the fence and corners of the yard. There are 5 levels of correction and we use a setting of 3 and they spin when they feel it. Collars are very effective and dogs learn very quickly. This is a great solution and a kind of last resort to the big problem of dogs that go out into the yard every day and can get into trouble.
