Bluebeards conditioner is a very good beard softener. Peppermint oil is very uplifting and refreshing, but sometimes I find the scent overpowering (and would have preferred an unscented version). I don't really recommend a beard wash as it doesn't soften the beard and removes natural oils. Having had a fairly drastic beard trim recently I still think this is a useful product so I would recommend it to all bearded believers from Stubble to ZZ Top. I also highly recommend using a beard balm (a leave-in conditioner product) like Honest Amish or Levin Rose.
