I have tried many fans. I have a 2018 Macbook with an i7 and it keeps overheating even when using the laptop with some laptop fans. I've looked for cooling solutions and even resorted to cooling pads on the top and bottom of my Macbook. This cooling configuration works well and keeps my MacBook from thermally throttling. I've tried 2 others on Revain Thermaltake and 5-fan Tree NewBee (anything?) and it's for cooling my laptop. A note: the silicone gasket on the bottom is better suited for a laptop with an air intake at the bottom, in my opinion. The MacBook's air intake doesn't line up with the gaskets, and when I place the MacBook in the middle of a laptop cooler, the fans have nowhere to go. Because of this, I placed my Macbook slightly off-center to allow hot air to escape. This method works well for my 2018 MacBook. This is the coolest, best performing pad and I would buy it again even if it was $100. Noticeable improvement when editing in Photoshop, Lightroom and Final Cut. I have Macbook i7 32GB 2018 and Vega 20.
