This item is fairly easy to put together but took a while to get it right. I put my hand on one of the shelves very carefully and the fabric tears so easily. This is definitely not a "bookshelf" and should not be used for anything of weight. It should be noted that the pieces of fabric that make up the shelves are only held up by four metal bars, so the slots are not supported. I use this for yarn and am afraid to put more than 4 skeins on the shelf as it seems so brittle. I received this item on sale and would say for the sale price this item is not worth it. He looked better in the photos.
