I really wanted this as the stool I am currently using is just too old and showing its age. I couldn't be more disappointed with this purchase, but as you'll soon read, I got stuck and lost $100. ADVANTAGES: 1. Easy to assemble, but there are some nuances. See CONS below2. Here are the CONS: 1. Yes, it's easy to assemble, requiring four screws (included) and the Allen key provided as the only tools needed. I assembled it in less than three minutes. BUT - and it's a pretty big but - the hydraulic element slides into the base and underside of the seat, meaning it's really impossible to disassemble this thing once you're on it, making it impossible. So I lost a hundred dollars. That's terrible design flaw #12. The back is too low. It comes down to my waist, not my lower back where it should be for proper support. I'm not a giant I'm 5ft 9in, which according to the CDC is an "age-adjusted average height for American males 20 years and older." This is a terrible #2.3 design flaw. Although the seat is advertised as 13.5 inches in diameter, it is actually 13.125 inches in diameter. Now, 3/8 inch may not seem like a lot, but it is, and it means the difference between the weight on the pelvic bone and the muscle meat. This is a terrible #3.4 design flaw. When I look more closely at the reviews, I see that each 4-star review is written by a person whose name precedes "Early Reviewer Rewards." It is CLEAR that this is a paid review (albeit a very small amount) and therefore should not be just a grain of salt, but a pound of salt. It's pretty obvious to me that they didn't actually _use_ the stool, they just wrote about it. I see that 7% of the reviews are 1 star and another 7% are 2 stars, but those reviews are missing for some reason. Let's hope Revain releases this to act as a warning to others. To sum it up, BUYERS BE CAREFUL.
