Review on AquaClear Impeller Assembly Power Filter Fish & Aquatic Pets by Angela Mitchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great in the Fluval C4 filter.

I got tired of constantly taking my C4 pump apart because the impeller that came with it was horribly unbalanced. I would disassemble it, clean it and put some petroleum jelly on the impeller shaft as a lot of people say on this filter pump. Most of the time this quieted the filter down for a few days, but before I knew it it was making all sorts of rumble noises. I was ready, I would rip it all out for something completely different. So I decided to try a new impeller. I wasn't impressed with the feedback on the C4 wheels and found many people complaining that the replacement parts were no better and in some cases worse. So I checked out the pump motor myself and found it to be identical to my old Aqua Clear unit I had. I figured why not and tried this one out. The first thing I noticed is that the tops of the impeller blades are curved while the Fluval is straight. Second, the impeller head is much tighter on the magnet base than the Fluval. So I installed it again using the same petrol trick I always do. When the pump started I was amazed at how much quieter it got. I've been running it for a full week now and it's as quiet as when it first started. If you have a C4 and are fed up with vibrating noises like me, then this balance bike is for you.
