Bought this for work. As a result, we stand in the sun all day, mostly on asphalt. It's getting hot. It does an excellent job of keeping the heat off me. I also bought a Sun Tec which was a bit cheaper. That's good, but this umbrella is noticeably cooler in terms of protection from the sun's heat. The ST screen lets heat through, this one doesn't. My only complaint is that it's not as big as the ST brand. Still, it's big enough for a person standing outside in the sun, and the difference in performance justifies the extra cost over the ST brand.
