Review on Razer Naga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse: Interchangeable Side Plates with Multiple Button Configurations, Focus+ 20K DPI Optical Sensor, Fastest Gaming Mouse Switch, Chroma RGB Lighting - Shop Now! by Brenda Martinez

Synapse issue 3.

I've been using this mouse for about a month now. Compared to a 400-4000 dpi mouse, this is a significant upgrade. The 5G optical sensor they added is one of the fastest sensors out there and the Ormond switches are top notch. But even that's not the best thing about this mouse. The best part is the price. I know $100 is a lot for a mouse. I understand. But if you think carefully about what you're getting for that $100, you're getting the best deal. We'll start with a standard 7-button mouse. The closest relative of this configuration is the DeathAdder Elite Chroma. The only differences between the Naga Trinity and the DeathAdder (despite the interchangeable keypads) are the texture underneath the two keys on the pad and the fact that the Naga Trinity has a ring finger rest while the DeathAdder doesn't. DeathAdder costs $67.99. The 14-button configuration (this one has a 7-button MOBA control panel) most closely resembles the Naga Hex V2. In fact, this is the perfect image of this particular mouse. The Naga Hex V2 costs $44.99 refurbished and $74.49 new (and it's the cheapest option). In a 19 button configuration (it has a 12 button MMO pad) this is the perfect representation of the Naga Chroma MMO mouse. If you were to buy a new one, it would cost you at least $93.00. Add it all up and you get $235.98. But you get RGB, Chroma, and Synapse functionality (more on that later) for $100. Tell me again where you can find another offer like this. Not to mention that it's a really good, smooth and fast mouse with different scroll wheel mechanics. It wiggles left and right and is set to scroll through websites and documents without turning the wheel. And of course you can program each individual button for individual tasks depending on the situation. They say you have to restart your computer to swap panels, but that's not true. Synapse detects changes on the fly and the mouse experiences no side effects. Take off one, put on another. Simply that way. why 4 stars? synapse. I hope they keep working on this version (the beta version of Synapse 3). It's lost the visceral feel it had in previous versions. And no, previous versions weren't perfect. In fact, it often stopped loading profiles, did weird things with the BlackWidow X Chroma lights, and then loaded a single color profile. Of course, when this profile is no longer needed, Synapse will reload the desktop profile and everything will be fine again. Synapse 3 made it difficult for me to program the RGB profile for the keyboard. But I can set individual functions for individual mouse buttons. For example, BlackWidow X Chroma has no volume control without using the FN key. I programmed these three functions into a 7 button mouse pad. If Synapse gets better I will change my rating. But until that happens, I'll just hold on to this star. I hope you listen to Razer. They claim that the game was developed by "players for players".

Pros
  • Fully modular customizability: 3 interchangeable sidebars with 2, 6 and 12 button configurations
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
