Excellent but it could be improved.

An excellent stand with only minor flaws. Pros: - Stays in place with no issues. Driven once on the Autobahn - carefully - and had no problems. - Very easy to take off to throw in the car while cycling and then put back on for the drive home in seconds. - The most convenient bike rack I have ever used is the smallest! Very small, that's great. Bad: -- The thread on the "spike" for attaching the fork is VERY sharp. When pinched, this design requires the skewer to slide to tighten, resulting in resistance at the ends of the fork. The sharp threads snag the frame and cause heavy wear over time. I held a file to the threads to blunt them while still being fully functional, and then wrapped tape around the skewer right where the ends of the fork meet. This allows it to be tightened while protecting the fork ends. The hairpin should not be threaded so far. Other mounts (Sunlite Bicycle Bike Block Fork Fork Mount, Black) have machined stems that are smooth where the fork ends rest. - The fastening mechanism is dry and makes a horrible metal to metal squeak. After applying the thick White Lightning Crystal Grease, the quality is much better. The difference is huge. The skewers and quick releases must be delivered lubricated. As soon as I unpacked, I noticed small cracks in the rubber of the baskets. I will email the company about this. This got me wondering how long the rubber would last without problems with rotting or cracking. I will learn how to condition this special material.

Pros
  • USE THE COUPON. Each of the four SeaSucker vacuum mounts is rated for over 210 pounds of pull force, so your road or mountain bike is in GREAT HANDS. You can install them in SECONDS with minimal effort and they work on a wide range of vehicles.
Cons
  • There are some downsides
