I live in Long Island, New York, and our property was infested with mosquitoes (especially in the backyard, but also pretty much everywhere around our house). I don't know why, but this year the mosquitoes were particularly aggressive. We also recently had a puppy so we often took her outside to pee. I bought these hoping they would deter mosquitoes from chasing us indoors but this product didn't work. I bought a set of 3 (they ended up giving you 1 free so I got 4). I placed them near our front door, 2 near our back door and 1 in our garage. Mosquitoes still come into our house and I was even bitten right in front of one of these critters. They definitely don't affect fruit flies - both pests fly around these plugins to no effect. I was very hopeful based on the reviews but don't waste your money.
