So Far So Good in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

I have just received this camera and firstly I would like to say that the Olympus 565uz will require some effort on your part to learn its capabilities but it will get right into it the scene mode allows you to take amazing pictures. The 33 saved scene modes really give you a wide range of settings, making it easy to just point and click in most situations. correct, but rest assured that you are doing everything right with this camera. It just takes a little learning and playing around with the manual settings. The images are very clear, detailed and the colors are amazing. I've also had great success with night shots. I'm amazed at how it gets the light out of everything it can and makes a really good shot. The zoom is also very good. I'd say you can get a good shot at around 200 meters at full zoom. At 100-150 yards, the subject you are photographing looks pretty close with a good amount of detail. Haven't tried shooting beyond 200 yards yet, but as I said you still get a pretty good image with a reasonable amount of detail at that distance. In addition to the 20x zoom, you can also digitally zoom the image 5x. The only thing I want to say about 100% zoom is that the lighting and situations have to be pretty good, otherwise you'll end up with blurry images. For example, if you are trying to photograph a deer that is 200 yards away, but there is another deer that is only 100 yards away, right in your line of sight, the focus at 100 yards will blur a little at 200 yards. But damn good for the price. Apart from that I will say that I like the panorama function. It takes a photo and then aligns it on both sides so you can pan the camera, align it and take the next shot. It comes out amazing. The built-in flash is also very good. Exactly what you expect. Even if there are disadvantages. First, it requires a 2GB max xD card, so you'll need to buy a few as 10Mp images aren't small. Second, the LCD is a bit small, but overall the camera is very compact, which is great for carrying and traveling, but using this feature is a waste of space on the LCD. Third, a mini USB connector is not used to connect to a computer. Very similar to mini-USB, but this is a branding thing you won't lose. I seem to have a mini USB no matter what I do, so it's a bit of a hassle because now I have to remember to take that special cable with me. Fourth, it uses AA batteries to operate. Some might think it's not a disadvantage because you can get AA batteries everywhere, but I don't like that because it's not that easy to charge. Although there is a charger for AA batteries that you can connect to your car. So it's not that important. I consider the downsides to be external, although easily circumvented, while internally the camera's functionality is top notch at this price point.
