Combined with HardwareElf's black Vislon #5 Top Stop, a couple of YouTube videos, my scissors and needle nose pliers and one of the YKK #5 Vislon Reverse Sliders I quickly got back to tactical use Fleece Balaclava 5.11 (#48038) at a much lower price than the cost of a replacement. The closest solution would be an old WearGuard 370 liner with a Vislon #8 zipper. Now that I know how to fix zippers, I regret returning my old (coil-zip) Convert jacket to Columbia for a replacement credit (but kudos to Columbia for the excellent warranty service). Just as an exercise, it's worth figuring out when you might need to repair a backcountry zipper and how to add a few items to your repair kit.
