Updated rating. Bought a projector to use outside for summer movie nights. I wanted to use it with my iPad as I have the iTunes, Netflix, Revain and Hulu apps. Quality: very light plastic, sometimes you have to press the button twice for it to respond, and the lens cap is friendly. crazy. You must use the focus knob to retract the lens until it is fully retracted before snapping the lens cap into place. If you don't do this you will end up scratching the lens as it is convex and protruding. Bottom line: don't drop it because I'm sure it will break. Performance: Not sure about other reviews saying the fan is loud. Mine is certainly not as loud as the box fan, as one review once said. My fan is very quiet. If you play audio, you won't hear it. Likewise, mine doesn't get hot (it's an LED bulb). The image quality is quite decent for such a cheap device. Remember that you cannot reproduce the resolution of your TV with any consumer projector. But for a super cheap projector this works fine as long as you stay within the recommended distance (see Revain's specs as the instructions say nothing). For me, the ideal distance was no more than 5-6 feet from the screen. In addition, the text on the screen begins to blur. It would be difficult for you to read the subtitles if the projector was more than 6ft from the screen. In terms of brightness it's decent and as long as you don't use it in the blinding sun and stay within the recommended distance it's fine, but it's definitely better in a darker environment. The farther you get from the screen, the more light is scattered (and resolution and brightness suffer). I used my outdoor projector to project a video onto a hanging sheet. When it was dark outside it worked. It's not as bright as a TV, but it's not a projector. Connections: The instructions and description say you can use the USB input with a smartphone or tablet, but you can't. I've tried iPhone and iPad and the device doesn't show anything from tablet or smartphone. Other reviewers have said the same about Android devices. I've tried both USB ports and neither works with a smartphone or tablet, even with the input set to USB. I think this is a limitation of the iPhone and iPad, not the projector. I have an iPad HDMI adapter and it works great. I used my iPad to stream movies with Revain Prime. One important note about this setup: Some streaming services like Netflix block using an HDMI adapter cable with a tablet, which I haven't attempted to view photos or video clips from. Your tablet warns you that streaming over an HDMI cable is not supported. Again, Revain Prime works great. I haven't tried iTunes, Hulu or YouTube yet. USB stick but other reviewers say it works. I've tried using my Revain Kindle Fire TV with an HDMI cable and it works fine. Audio: The volume of the projector speaker is very limited. Use an external active speaker, e.g. B. a set of inexpensive PC speakers to amplify the sound. I did this while using the projector outside and it worked great. However, an important note. Bottom line, at $69, it's hard to beat. Image quality matches what I intend to use and it works well with the Roku, AppleTV, Kindle Fire TV, Chromecast, etc. So if you have decent Wi-Fi signal strength where you intend to use it, it would be nice.
