Review on 🚲 RAD Cycle Aluminum Bike Stand Storage Rack: Holds Two Bicycles, Ideal for Display and Storage by Sal Muniz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sturdy enough - was a big headache to install

Firstly, the stand works fine and is relatively solid. However, this shelf was one of the most difficult things I have ever come across and I consider myself quite skilled. There were three main problems that made the gathering a nightmare. 1) The screws are pretty much the length they should be *when tightened*, and since things have to be screwed *loosely* together to move the parts together, you need to balance the tiny parts that screw in just enough to not fall off , but not harder. 2) Even with the screws loosened as much as possible, things didn't slide easily. And by that I mean I literally had to use a hammer to push the pieces together. Pro tip: If you don't already have a rubber mallet, get one before building this monster. And 3) the little handles that hold the bikes are covered in rubber to prevent damage. cool right? not so cool if the thickness of the rubber is not taken into account when determining bolt length. The only way to get one of the arms on was to scrape the rubber covering off part of the arm with a knife. I ended up being able to slide with just one hand, leaving my bike hanging vertically (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). On the plus side, it makes me less nervous when my hand suddenly slips down and my bike crashes (because again I had to use a hammer to shove the damn thing in). All in all it took me an hour and a half and a lot of swearing to put the rod back in place and put on a hand.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
