For one thing, when used for liquids, the plastic seal is removed, allowing the lid to be thoroughly cleaned. It's a little tricky to separate, but sticking the back of a butter knife between the plastic and glass makes it easier. That's the worst and it's not that bad. Otherwise they look very nice on the counter and in the fridge. I was told these were my bougie glasses. I love her. I mainly use them for water. I cool them down. I don't like the taste of water stored in plastic or metal and they save me from that while still looking good.
