Review on DVI2USB 3.0: Capture High-Quality Video from Any DVI, VGA, or HDMI Source at 60 fps by Jaie Bobin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It runs at 720p, and while Skype supports it, ooVoo plays HD widescreen, and Adobe loves it.

Spending the same amount on a GrassValley HDMI to 1394 converter for a 720p signal that doesn't get through at all on a 4 pin 1394 and might get through on a 6 pin 1394 but though it didn't work with editing programs it didn't work at all in Skype or ooVoo as a webcam, I came across this DVI2USB3 converter from Epiphan to HDMI-USB3. With USB 3.0, he easily transmitted the 720p HD signal to the car. It took a bit of debugging with Epiphan's absolutely excellent technical service to get the correct color space. Their software put it into Skype, but Skype forced it into the 620x480 box and refused to recognize it as widescreen. When I turned on ooVoo it actually recognized the input without any additional software, didn't even need Epiphan's free software and automatically output it as a widescreen HD signal - a great signal. Finally, thanks to ooVoo and Epiphan, we can operate the output of our studio video mixer (ATEM Television Studio) directly as a webcam.
