Top Dollar Sound On-Ear Headphones

First off, these are the best sounding headphones I've ever used. Some brands I've used include JBL, Apple, Taotronics, Jaybird, and Beats. They knock them out of the water, which is amazing because I've never really associated Philips with sound technology. These headphones are very well balanced and fairly close to neutral in sound. The bass is clean and powerful, but doesn't drown out the highs and mids. All frequencies are quite clean. No frequency competes with each other. The sound remains clear at all volume levels. For the sake of my own hearing, I didn't turn them all the way up, turned them up to about 75% and they were very loud. I should also point out that they sound best when connected to whatever device you're listening to using the included auxiliary cable. In Bluetooth mode, there's a little more background blur than what you often hear with Bluetooth headphones. It's a little distracting at first, but quickly gets ignored. Just thought I'd point that out. However, there is no background noise when wired. Convenient one-button Bluetooth control. There is no active noise cancellation, but enough sound is blocked for my taste. I must also point out that the wearing comfort of these headphones is phenomenal. Extensive padding on the upper and ears ensures you won't feel sore after hours of use. Build quality is solid but undeniably plasticky, but that's to be expected at this price point. All in all, if you're looking for a stunning, mostly neutral, yet slightly punchy sound, these are definitely ones you should try. I love her! I only docked 1 star due to noticeable Bluetooth background noise and the fact that there are no controls on the accessory cable.
