Excellent pencil sharpener; Excellent quality, perfect size and excellent job of sharpening, fast and without wood roughness. The spiral blade is durable and should last for years. It's definitely not loud! Not only did this sharpener come with a power cord, it also came with a real plug which is never included with most similar items. It can be powered by cord OR battery, actually four AA batteries which are not included. I've used it both ways and both worked the same way with no loss of power when using the batteries. I use it at home, but sometimes I take it to my Sunday school room where I sharpen about 20 pencils an hour. Time. The size of the compartment is perfect and I don't have to empty it every five or ten pens; I can easily do 20 plus more before having to flush. The size of the sharpener is also perfect; about the size of one of the small bottles of Gatorade or a little smaller than a can of soda pop. Mine is on the kitchen table where it doesn't bother because it's not too big. This is a great pencil sharpener in every way and great quality for the price. It can hold about 30 pencils before they need to be emptied, and it sharpens that amount very quickly. Great purchase and highly recommend.
