We have always used the Otterbox Defender Series for every Apple iPhone and iPad in our house with no problems. Our young children have dropped, thrown, chewed and otherwise hit our electronics and it has remained in perfect working order. We just bought new iPads for kids for Christmas and of course ordered Otterbox cases again. I immediately noticed that they weren't as good as they used to be. The inner cases are much lighter and thinner than before, and the outer hardshell case, which covers the screen when not in use, is thicker, heavier, and quite frankly very annoying. It takes a lot to get it on a tablet too. You also have to remove it to reveal the charging port, which wasn't the case on previous Otterbox generations. The biggest problem is my son's iPad screen cracked within a week of using this case! We were so heartbroken that we didn't order the AppleCare guarantee, thinking we wouldn't need it with Otterbox. The new screen was supposed to cost $160, but luckily the Revain replaces the iPad as it's been less than 30 days since it shipped. What happened to your quality level, Otterbox?
