Installation tips for this shelf

This is a beautiful shelf. Dimensions are accurate; it's small but perfect for our small wall next to the bathroom mirror. As other reviews have noted, no instructions are included and you are better off using drywall anchors for a tight and secure fit to the wall. Do not use the plastic screws or long metal screws supplied with the device. You will need the following (in addition to other materials included in the kit): four (4) 50 pound drywall anchors with screws (cost about $2 at hardware store), Phillips head screwdriver, flat head screwdriver, spirit level. , tape measure or ruler, pencil, piece of paper to write down your measurements. For the installation, look closely at the images on Revain to navigate through the materials. Measure exactly where the brackets are to be attached to the wall. The shelves are 12.5" in diameter, so I installed the brackets with 11" spacing between brackets. The extra 1.5 inches allowed for the width of the brackets themselves, as well as a small ledge on the sides for the shelves. Use a level to align the brackets directly across from each other with 11 inches between them and make sure they are vertically straight. You must measure carefully or your shelf will go crooked (and items may slide off the side). Using a pencil, draw circles on the wall in the brackets where the four anchors and drywall screws will go. Screw the drywall anchors into the wall with a Phillips screwdriver. When you install the brackets, make sure each of the small screws that go into the bracket to hold the shelves are oriented bottom to top, pointing up where the shelf will slide so you can mount the shelf later insert and tighten the screw. up (not down) to secure the shelf. Attach the brackets by first placing a small round screw cap plate on each screw, then inserting the screws into the holes in the brackets, and then screwing them into the drywall anchors. When the brackets are securely screwed to the wall, attach a cover to the front of each screw. Then center and insert each shelf and use a flathead screwdriver to tighten and secure the shelves. If you survive all this, the shelves will look just as good as in the picture!
