Review on Beaba 912066 BEABA Babycook Sorbet by Jennifer Ford

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Completely unnecessary, but still like it!

This is one of the most unwanted and ridiculously expensive baby items I own, but I can't help but love it. Common sense tells me I might as well cook food on the stovetop and grind it in a blender, even more than the Beaba Babycook allows, but it's such an adorable little device with such a simple cooking process that it totally motivates me to to use it, and that's why we have a freezer full of baby food cubes. However, it is definitely NOT suitable for reheating food - I followed the defrost/reheat instructions and it came out piping hot. Another downside is that there are very few recipes, even on a site that looks impressive at first but is actually pretty sparse. Conclusion: If you love flashy kitchen gadgets and have a rich uncle who wants to buy you an extravagant shower gift, then you've come to the right place! Otherwise, buy a blender — at least you can use it to make frozen margaritas too. Update: 3 months after I bought the Beaba I still use it CONSTANTLY. Sometimes I bake or steam food in the oven/stove and grind it in a blender, but I have to say the Beaba is a lot more convenient. And I would now up my rating to 5 stars - I recently got distracted while cooking beets on the stove (imagine being distracted by a 9 month old son) and burned the bottom of the pot. Beaba is now the only thing I use for steaming because it turns off automatically when it boils and I can't stress enough the peace of mind this safety feature gives me, as any mom with a baby brain can understand! If you can afford it, buy it.
