This line is a pleasure to use. I found it in March 2011 at a stationery store in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo. Hard to believe that three years have passed since Fukushima. Wow. As a scientist, I think it's great that everything is absolutely metric. There are no customs here. I mainly use it as a ruler or for informal measurements, but it's also good for measuring small but highly visible objects on slides. It lays very flat on the paper, but the ridge on the non-measuring side makes it easier to pick up the ruler after you put it down. I keep a ruler in my 9x5 moleskin, one in my briefcase, one on my desk. at work and one on my desk at home. I got them for my kids too. It is very durable, 15cm size is suitable for most uses and carrying. The oxidation layer is fine; If you want to make it lighter, put some varnish on it and it will have a nice shine.
