I've used OtterBox Defender cases with my last 3 Galaxy phones and love them. At work, my phone is taken out of its case hundreds of times throughout the day. I have always been able to rely on the OtterBox case and holster to keep my phone safe. However, this is no longer the case with the Defender case and holster that I recently bought for the new Galaxy S21 Ultra. In this case, the phone will not properly snap into the holster unless it is pointed in a certain direction. In previous versions, the phone was fixed no matter what direction it was facing. And unfortunately, with the new case, I have to put the phone in the opposite direction to what I'm used to. Worse, if you put your phone in the case the wrong way, the case will appear to snap into place as it loosely clamps the power button on the right side of the phone. This gives the impression that your phone is locked, but it isn't. So the bottom line is there is no way I can keep using this $1300 phone case/holster. If I did that, my phone would no doubt be lost after a very short time. * On a note. This disadvantage could have been avoided if the OtterBox had changed the position of the locking points on the case and holster.
