If you only read one review, read this one!

HERE IS ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS TENT! We joined our 4th grade daughter's class on her first camping trip last week. She was about to share a tent with a friend and the school offered mismatched garage tents as the only option - unless they provided their own. I wanted a good 3 person tent with enough space to put backpacks in and sleep comfortably. The most important thing was the weight - they were only allowed to carry 1/3 of their body weight in their backpacks. For my daughter that was only Β£17 and for her friend only Β£20 so a lightweight tent was a MUST (and of course I didn't want to spend $400 on a camping tent)! This tent, split between two of them, only weighed 2.2 pounds each (I had a 15 ounce gauge). I've spent hours browsing Revain, reading specs and reviews from real people, and I keep coming back to this tent. We needed a tent here for 2 days, so having Revain Prime membership meant I didn't have to pay a hefty fee for expedited shipping. I also bought the trail that comes with this tent and I was so glad I did. During our hike in Los Padres National Forest it rained on us and the ground was wet and muddy. The bugs were very bad too! This tent was easy to set up and two ten year old girls did it in minutes. The tarp fitted perfectly under each corner post, securing it and making sure it didn't move even with the girls constantly pacing in and out of the tent. The instructions were easy to follow and included photos for every step, unlike my extremely expensive Papa Hubba tent which required me to youtube to figure out how to attach the rain cover! The raincoat was great, easily attached to the tent and even had plenty of string to tie down and really strong pegs! Again, these bets were easier to use and held up better than the expensive aftermarket bets I bought from REI! 2 doors meant they could get cross ventilation throughout the day even with a rain cover as each side rolled up easily and had 2 built in latches to secure them. When we sat in our $450 tent with doors that were difficult to access with the rainscreen installed, I envied my daughter's $100 tent that could form a covered entryway by pulling out and deploying the rainscreen door. our walking sticks (or sticks will do)! Inside the tent there were handy pockets for small items that needed easy access and a place to hang their solar lantern in the center of the top (you just need a knot or carabiner). The zippers never got stuck and they were pretty rough (because the bugs were awful it was a crazy rush to open the tent, jump in and zip it up quickly before the critters got with you). Even with the rain doors rolled up, there was a vestibule on either side for dirty shoes or their entire backpack - when two other girls who had decided to use the school tent set it up only to find it was missing a pole and was utterly useless was - so last night a third girl stayed in this tent and the backpacks came out. It had enough space for three girls, their big pillows and a few things. It packs easily back into a small zipped bag (which can be tightened even more with drawstrings) and we even fit the Trail into a compact tent bag! THE ONLY DENIER WE MEET: My daughter's friend's father hung out with her in the tent and said he couldn't lie flat unless he was lying sideways. He is about 6 feet tall. He liked the tent so much that he considered buying it, but it was too short. We are NOT tall people so it doesn't matter to us, but if you are you can consider this point. The last clarification I would add is that while we pitched the tent right after the rain (and there was water between the track and the tent that didn't seep through the ground at all), the tent didn't during the activity have used rain. Storm. I doubt there will be any problems, but if you're hiking in the rain and it bothers you, line it up and hose it down first to be sure. YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER QUALITY FOR THIS AMOUNTS. A TENT THAN THIS - and you might prefer this tent for more money πŸ˜‰
