ok. Very strong cedar scent. No lavender scent. They are a little rougher around the edges than in the picture but no splinters. I put them all in my drawers. I got these instead of cedar balls for my drawers because they seem to have a lot of surface area and can lay flat under clothes. Also for people who are disappointed they didn't have a smell: I don't think the smell does the job. At my mother's house I have a dresser that should be made of cedar because my old clothes never smell bad or get moth covered no matter how many years they've been there. The dresser doesn't smell at all. I'll update this if my shirts keep getting moldy in my Ikea chipboard dresser after a while.
