The coating in my old kettle started to peel off. I have tested many kettles and took a chance on this one based on the design and the fact that it is stainless steel inside and out. There were no reviews and I assumed price meant quality. I've been happy so far. I like the wide base that fits on a large burner and heats up pretty quickly. The steel rod at the top, which opens the spout, takes some getting used to. As long as it works, it's a nice, safe and reliable kettle that's worth the money. I would rate it higher in the future.
