The best hard drive for everything

I know people get that silly idea that they need a high speed HDD or even an SSD for high performance, but it's a silly idea because it there is no such thing as high quality or durable hard drives in high speed cases or solid state drives. Engines wear out over time, and solid-state media simply lose their ability to store data on each write-back. I've been using Western Digital Enterprise Edition hard drives since they were called. They were red for a while and then gold for some reason (not really sure which of those product names came and went first). Now these are Ultrastar or Datacenter versions. Either way, these drives run at 7500rpm and will last forever if not put under a load. The media stores data accurately. The engine never stops. Sometimes the control board fails, but this is easy to fix. Pretty much all you can do to really lose data with a WD Enterprise or Datacenter drive is drop it, hit it with a hammer, or get very, very close to a powerful electromagnet. I use these drives in any system that is expected to last a long time and continue to run at its original standard until vaporized in a nuclear explosion. Whether it's a multi-thousand gaming rig, a high-performance workstation, or a server waiting for a data access load, just get this drive and don't waste your time and/or money on anything else .
