This 5 gallon canister was purchased to store gasoline for a generator purchased after a 3 day power outage in the winter of February 2021. Filled with just under 5 gallons - for expansion - along with fuel stabilizer. To date (July 2021) it has no leaks or rust. The metal cap is very firm due to the force of the spring. The plastic funnel provided with the kit is useful for pouring fuel from a larger canister into a smaller container suitable for metered refueling of the generator. Since this canister was purchased to store gas in my garage, which sometimes approaches 100F, it was found safe on an odor test with no detectable fumes. It proved I bought another. To make pouring easier I might consider buying a jar with a built in metal spout and paying a bit more but found the funnel good enough. Despite its effectiveness for keeping in my garage, as an additional layer of security, I'm looking for a remotely monitored gasoline vapor detector that also avoids sparks at or near the ground.
