The control does not come back on in the last setting as they indicate. They shipped out 3 replacement controls, and it's the same problem. Their claim is that they have an improved memory chip in the new control, which is possibly true. (It looks the same). We have opened and rewired 2 of the old units, and 1 of the new replacements. The chip itself may be updated, but there is no internal source for power once the electricity is shut off (via a timer in our scenario) and the units (new included) come back on in the flash sequence regardless of the last setting. I installed these for a customer of mine, and ended up losing money by having to remove each control (they were all up quite high on her home) and then bringing them home, opening the sealed control, soldering a bypass and resealing the units prior to reinstalling. When I contacted the seller, their answer was that I should remove the rope lights entirely and return them. I explained that removing them would be an issue (my customer has an aluminum framed patio that all 3 sets are installed in different locations using about (60) 1/2" EMT straps. Not only would I lose money on my time to install and remove, but it would cost money out of pocket to weld and grind the aluminum to look original. Their response was lackluster. I will never use them again. The worst part, is that they continue to tell people that the problem with the settings has been resolved.
