This is the best shoe I've seen for overhanging trails. The sock has the perfect firmness for digging in, yet is soft enough to lubricate relatively well. This is a more versatile shoe than I thought. The heel is of course fantastic, the design adds stiffness and support. I went down 2 1/2 US sizes (10.5 to 8) and they were very painful to break in but they fit like a glove. However, the elastic hem has stretched and the fit isn't as precise as it was originally. Too much weight on the heel puts pressure on the width of the shoe and stretches it even more. So far the effect is only aesthetic, a tighter strap solves the fit issue. The band itself is great too. Plain and thick, they should last a long time with no problems, unlike a system with ties in the solutions. If you're looking for the next shoe to help you with bouldering, look no further. These are great shoes and they look pretty too. Sensitive and hard at the same time and discreet enough for all types of climbing.
