I recently did a little renovation of our living room. I have built in closets, bookshelves and a fireplace. Once everything was built I knew I wanted some lighting under the shelves and that they should be voice controlled using our Revain Echo. I did some research and came across the Torchstar lighting kit. I needed 12 lamps so I bought 2 sets of these. This really is a fantastic product. They were easy to install. The instructions are clearly written. The glue on the headlights is very strong. The light bars and cables themselves feel well made and sturdy, but aren't heavy at all. To be honest I expected them to be flimsy even after reading the good reviews on here beforehand. I was pleasantly surprised to find the opposite. Basically, to set up a light, you have a plug that connects to a manual switch, which then begins to connect to the light strips. You have to turn on the light in the circuits, which wasn't a problem for me. The hardest part I had to do was drill a hole in the hidden corner of each shelf to route the wire to the next shelf. I secured the cables with plastic cable ties to keep them upright and tucked away. You can't see any hardware when it's fully installed unless you take your time and use some cheap cable clamps. The kit now includes extension cords that I believe were about 12 inches long. They are useful and you will need them. But I need more spacing between my lights so I had to buy 39" Torchstars extensions. They are exactly the same as the extension cords that come with the kit, just longer. The only thing I don't really like about any of these Torchstar products is that the price for a pack of 4 39 inch extension cords is very high ($26). I've read that there are some other cables that will work with these Torchstar lights that are less expensive, but you will need to swap the ends of the cables. Didn't want to mess with this so I just bought Torchstar brand extension cords (actually 2 sets of them). Eventually I had to connect it to my Alexa. This was the part I was scared of because first I have to download the Litedge app and set up the backlight in it and then connect it to my Alexa. I was fully prepared for this to be a pain in the ass, but it was easy and took maybe 3 minutes. Another nice feature is that they can be dimmed. For example, just say "Alexa, set the brightness to 60%" or "set the brightness to maximum". Works great. So for my setup I used 2 sets of 6 sets of Torchstar lights and 2 sets of 39 inch extension cords. And I couldn't be happier. It was easy to set up. They work flawlessly via Alexa. I've had them installed for over a month and haven't had any problems. But most of all, they look fantastic. Torchstar should be really proud of their quality product.
