I probably got it for the Accutane treatment, like many who bought it. Personally, I wasn't doing so well. On the drug, my lips were so painfully dry and sensitive that rubbing a harsh, waxy lip balm on it was painful, and within 15 minutes my lips were covered in small, scaly lumps of dead skin. In terms of effectiveness, I find Aquaphor to be much more hydrating. When I get angular cheilitis, applying low-strength hydrocortisone ointment and Aquaphor morning and night directly to the affected area helps quickly and limits the effects of corticosteroids. I'm just not sure if it's a good idea to use it all the time as a daily lip balm unless you really need it.
