I bought these to store car paint before adding activator. At first they will work fine, but only then. If you are ONLY storing the paint in it, don't pour it out, and close the lid again, do so. However, if you want to store paint in it to use some paint, close the lid, use more paint later, close the lid, repeat the process. FORGET IT! The color remains as expected in the male and female parts of the lid. Forget the tight cap once you've poured paint through the hole. You may think you can only press hard enough to get a tight seal. NOT CORRECT! These bottles are VERY SOFT to withstand any force applied to the cap to close it. I tried wiping down the fittings right after pouring, no. I tried to press hard, NO! If you apply any type of pressure like you would expect a baby to, the pressure applied to the cap will push the top of the bottle into the bottle. A jar with a lid may not pour as well as the handy spout these bottles have, but if you want to prevent the paint from drying out and/or slowly pouring out of the storage container, DO NOT BUY THESE!
