I prefer Act slightly to Biotene because it has a milder taste. I've never really cared about the taste of Biotene. However, both products appear to be equally good at providing short-term relief from dry mouth symptoms. Another benefit of Act Spray, aside from the taste, is that it comes in a flat container that can be slipped into a pants or shirt pocket without creating an unsightly bulge. Note, however, that one container of Biotene holds one and a half ounces compared to just one ounce of Act. I didn't do the math, but I think you're paying more per ounce if you go with Act. The shallow container that I praised also has some downsides. The flip cap can get in the way when spraying, and the spray knob on mine tends to spin a bit too freely when I'm using it. So you accept the bad along with the good.
