The packaging says the high resolution is about the same as a flip phone. Night vision is practically non-existent. due to the fact that it suits my needs, but if you want to dictate what you see, this isn't the camera for you, it's the "there's something" camera, the weather, it's a person or a rod for you to understand. UPDATE: I originally used the large display to test the camera, so my original review still applies when using a large 12" display, but the image quality is much better when I use it on my 6" display I don't use it, but I wouldn't. I didn't call it HD because the packaging says which wires to cut and none of mine are cut, and I have guide lines so I'm not sure what's up with it is. I'm afraid to cut something for fear I might kill the camera.
