This was exactly what we were looking for as a transition blanket for our little boy to go from crib to toddler bed! We wanted to make his transition as exciting as possible so my husband and I bought this bedding set for our dinosaur obsessed 2.5 year old son to congratulate him on the fact that he now sleeps in a full sized crib. He was SO excited! He stayed in his bed and played for almost an hour, pointing at dinosaurs, growling and exclaiming that he loved dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are neither too childish nor too realistic (or look bad), a perfect in-between! dried it in a chill and tumble dry on medium heat before we made a bed for him. No colors ran off and nothing was damaged. It stayed as light after washing as it did when opened. It's not cotton. I knew that before I bought it and personally it didn't bother me. It's still very soft and snuggly. The blanket is not heavy, actually quite thin. But our son's sleep is as hot as an oven, so even on those record-low winter days we didn't need a heavy blanket. That's exactly what we were looking for. At the moment it was of course only used for a weekend and only washed once. If my experience with this product changes after a few washes and months of use I will definitely update my review. But for now; I am happy, my husband is happy and especially my son!
