It's not worth it. Stay with Milani Everyday Eyes

I have a little regret buying this palette. At first I was hesitant to buy it because of its limitations, lack of tonal range (light, medium/light, dark) and versatility (because of the tonal range). However, this is a niche item with a focus on the embers theme, so I relaxed a bit and bought this item. I really liked the Milani Everyday Eyes eyeshadow in 01 Must Have Naturals which reminded me of Natasha Denona's eyeshadows in terms of texture, pigmentation and easy blending for a fraction of the prestige cost so I decided to give Gilded Ember a try. .When I received the product I was a bit disappointed that the eyeshadow palette itself seemed cheap. It feels like it should be owned by Walmart (where Gilded Violet and Gilded Emerald are made), not Target, if you know what I mean. The cover of the palette, which looks glossy in most photos on the internet, is not glossy at all. I don't know how to describe it other than saying it's like someone cut out pieces from a magazine and pasted them onto a palette. I also didn't like the scratchy texture it had. Like most pallets, this one is closed by magnetization. After opening, there is a decent mirror on the "lid". So, here's the real tea: Swatches. Are these shadows pigmented? Yes, all except maybe Phoenix and Golden Hour, which are a little chalky. Are some too pigmented? Yes, I'd say the obvious one - Pyro - is pigmented almost to the point of failure. I think there's a good balance between providing pigmented eyeshadows that you can apply and blend (clumsy protection) and providing eyeshadows that are pigmented enough that they have a small margin of error. I would also say that some of the shadows appear rough in the swatches. Rose Amber looked very rough, more like pressed glitter? Ignite wasn't as smooth as other pigments either. I can't talk about falling out now because I haven't worn them yet. I'll give an update when I do a wear test though. I predict that bolder reds will tint my lids, but I think that's typical of other bolder palettes. I've included photos of the palette as well as samples of my fingers (didn't want to do brush samples) taken in indirect sunlight, direct sunlight, indoors, and yellow indoor lighting. I have tried to post photos as close to color as possible. Pyro looks a little more coral in the photos but is actually more of a true red. Would I recommend this palette to others? Not really.
