This is not a pea coat or even a coat. It's more like a lined sweatshirt. It's thick and warm to the touch, but it's definitely not a coat. I haven't tested it but you can tell if you get wet on the outside it gets wet on the inside what is the difference between a coat and a sweatshirt. My son loves it, otherwise I would have sent it back.
