The inner padding is quite thick and soft. My legs stopped hurting long after work (10-12 hours of standing). I had already accidentally tested the steel toe cap when a piece of steel came loose from a faucet and fell on my toes. (150 pounds by 2 feet) It didn't even leave a noticeable mark on the shoe. 10/10 recommend.
