Good projector for everyday use

This projector is a good, compact projector that can be connected to the most common interfaces: VGA, HDMI (cable included), composite video (cable included). It also includes a simple infrared remote control and a detachable power cord. There is its own built-in speaker, loud but not very high quality. This is probably fine for home video, but not for THX. But it's loud enough to be heard when a small group of people sit and watch, as long as nobody makes much noise. The image has a resolution of 1280 x 720. If your source material has a resolution of 1080, the projector will resample the video to its native resolution. For the most part it looks fine, although the aliases can be obvious at times. Large text will be visible, but try not to use MS Word. Bright enough to compete with a pair of 60W (equivalent) incandescent bulbs at close range. I used it in a well lit room 10ft from the wall and saw everything perfectly. There is no zoom, but there is focusing and optical keystone correction. Keystone correction is somewhat limited, though, a little more than is needed for 1-inch tilt. The projector also includes an integrated media player that can read files from a standard sized SD card slot. H264 encoded MP4 and MKV files were detected. I haven't tried H265/VP9 or .wmv files. The built-in player is healthy and responds well to input from the on-case controls or the IR remote. For this price range, this projector performs very well. The only issue is that there is a 1/4-20 tripod mount underneath the projector which looks like it would be useful for attaching to the projector but due to the way the bottom of the projector was made the protrusion prevents the assembly . all but the smallest tripod mount (e.g. Ultrapod or Gorillapod). Pros: * Inexpensive * Speakers * Fairly good picture (quality and brightness) * Easy to use controls/UICons * Mounting stand that cannot be put to good use. * Slight incline adjustment range.
