Chuuya has a terrible seasonal allergy and the vet thinks he's itchy because of his nerves. We've tried a million preventive measures - e-collars, sweaters, inflatable cones, etc. - but none of them have worked. He could always scratch his neck. When I put on the surgical suit, he was thrilled! He didn't fight me or freak out; in fact, he started to purr. I really think he likes the softness and slimmer fit of this suit (he wears a large one). As you can see from the photo, he is a fat man, so the suit often slips a little even when the strap is tightened. We've noticed that since he's been so comfortable in this suit, he's completely stopped itching! Its skin begins to heal after a few weeks of picking. Just in case, we found a workaround to lower the suit. There are a few loopholes at the bottom of his cone, so we pulled the suit up and attached a safety pin through the cone loop at the suit's neck. It seems to be holding up. The material of the suit is also very light, so Chewie doesn't overheat when baking cookies. We love this suit so much and I'm so thankful we found it at the right time.
