So I got this cable from a customer specifically to hide under the carpet and was finally able to use it. I have seen this type of cable in other offices and thought it would be a good buy as due to the style of the office some of the ethernet cables run under the desk and the switch is mounted under the other desk and we had problems when someone I unplugged the network cable from the backup NAS and it caused a real panic. So I started unwinding the cable and it seemed like good quality at first so I plugged in one end and started taking out the old cable. and replace it with this cable. I covered a decent distance and took a few corners, but then it exploded at a 90 degree angle on the corner of the wall. I'd go ahead and ignore it, but it was a critical NAS cable and I can't have packet loss due to a broken cable. I ended up using a temporary regular round cable for the day. It probably still works fine, but I can't risk a torn cable box that might also have damaged wires. Well, I guess I'll have to try other flat cables. Technically, they should handle corners better than rounded traditional cables, but not in this case.
