I got this for my home automation server (Intell NUC Celeron 4th Gen, 4GB RAM which I had one after one laptop upgrade) so I could place it in a separate dedicated station for guests to turn on the lights without having to download an app. I also wanted it to fit on an IKEA Expedit (now Kallax) shelf (13" wide x 13" high). I'm a bit disappointed that I can't mount it above the monitor in this case (surely you can) but the side allows it to fit perfectly on the shelves so I'll live but it's definitely doable, when you align it correctly NUC VESA mount. Cables and connections are still accessible in the rack. My previous idea was to mount the NUC VESA mount directly to a vertical support shelf, but I didn't want to drill holes in this thing anymore (I've had it for ten years at the time, so there are a lot of holes and modifications already). Using the many VESA screws and standoffs I've bought over the years (never throw away those little ones, they'll come in handy eventually), I was also able to attach a wireless keyboard/trackpad tray to the Attach front so your options Adding other mounts/adapters in scenario may vary.
